The goal for this year's Summer Reading challenge is to encourage children of the Groves community to read or listen to books during the summer so they can maintain and improve good reading skills.

Parent Information About Summer Reading Program 2017

  1. Sign up begins: June 5, 2017 from 10::00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. in the meeting room of GPL.
  2. First log due: June 16, 2017
  3. Reading Club lasts six weeks during June and July
    Reading Logs are due every Friday starting June 16, 2017
  4. Deadline to turn in final log is July 21, 2017 by 4:40 PM.
  5. Record each book read and mark it appropriately on your reading log one book per line.
  6. Do not call or email the library and ask to add titles.
  7. There will be a small treat given to children who return their reading logs on Friday.
    Each child who turns in a reading log on Friday will have their name put into a drawing for a gift card from a local business.
  8. There will be a performance with Mick Corley and His Imagination Station on July 27th at 10 AM in the meeting room. Children do not have to register for the reading program to attend the show.
  9. Every child who registers will be eligible to attend the Pizza Party and Awards giveaway on July 27th immediately following the Mick Corley show.
  10. There are 4 reading divisions:
    Read to Me (any age to Pre-K)
    Kindergarten-1st grade
    2nd and 3rd grade
    4th and 5th Grade

          There will be a Teen program for children 12 and up.
